Introduction to Scent Detection

Our Introduction to Scent Detection class is designed for beginners who want to explore the exciting world of scent work with their dogs. This class provides a foundation in scent detection by teaching your dog to recognize and search for specific odours. Using positive reinforcement, we will guide you and your dog through the basics of odor identification, searching techniques, and building the confidence needed for successful scent detection. Perfect for both working dogs and those looking for a fun, mentally stimulating activity, this class will help develop your dog’s natural abilities while strengthening your bond as a team. Whether you’re aiming for sport, professional work, or just a fun hobby, this introductory class will give you the skills to get started! It is an 8 week course and the cost is $225 plus HST.

Requirements:
– Dogs age 6+ months
– Dog can be in a room with other dogs without being disruptive

Advanced Scent Detection

Our Advanced Scent Detection class is designed for dogs and handlers who have a foundational understanding of scent work and are ready to take their skills to the next level. In this class, we will build on search techniques, introducing more complex scent challenges, varied environments, and distractions to enhance your dog’s accuracy and focus. You’ll learn advanced handling techniques, improve your dog’s ability to work in different scenarios, and strengthen their response to specific scents. This class is ideal for those looking to advance in scent detection for sport, professional work, or personal enrichment. By the end of the course, your dog will have a more refined skill set and increased confidence in scent detection tasks. It is an 8 week course and the cost is $225 plus HST.
